Here’s an excerpt from my article published on LinkedIn:

I’m a walker/runner with my sights set on my first marathon. I’ve completed a half marathon before but never a full 26.2 miles. My why for setting the goal is to fulfill a promise to myself. I look forward to accomplishing this goal. I also know, along the way, I’ll have adversity to overcome. Greater than time, weather or physical conditioning, I know mastering my attitude will be key to celebrating my marathon victory.

For when, not if, the time comes and I feel tempted to give in, give up, or drop out of my training, I have three steps to rely on (pardon the pun.)
