
“You’re so stupid.” The first time you heard it stung. The next time a little less and by now, you’re numb to those words.
Whether those lies were uttered by someone else or perhaps internally, they’ve become familiar and in some strange way comfortable.
The subtle assault of a verbal attack all too often sets the stage for physical and emotional abuse as well.
To realize it’s not “normal” to be called names, be threatened, or abandoned can sadly be a foreign concept to more women than you may realize.
Just because something is familiar doesn’t make it okay.
You are worthy of respect. You are valuable. You deserve to be safe and feel secure. Believe THESE words and embrace your new truth.
